The mistake that'll keep your brand stuck for months

This is how I fooled myself with “strategy”. I built the slides, scripts, and voiceovers — but I didn’t launch. The problem wasn’t the brand. It was my fear.

It was 2AM.

My girlfriend was asleep. The fan was making that one annoying tick-tick sound. And I was on my coffee chai of the night, staring at a Notion page titled:

“Final Final FINAL v7 of Branding 101 Launch.”

Slides? Done.
Voiceovers? Crisp.
Mascot? Looked like he belonged on Cartoon Network.

But still — I hadn’t launched.

Why?

Because I was “still refining the structure.”

Which was just a fancy way of saying: I was scared to ship.

What if no one bought it?
What if someone smarter called it basic?
What if I looked like a fraud?

I told myself I was perfecting it.

But truth is?
I was hiding behind polish. I called it “strategy” — but really, I was hiding.

Here’s the funny part: I’ve helped over 150 companies fix their branding. I’ve charged lakhs for clarity.

But when it came to my own brand?

I was a mess.
A control freak.
A framework hoarder.
A recovering perfectionist who couldn’t press publish.

The issue wasn’t effort. It was emotional attachment. I built too much before testing. I tried to teach everything I knew instead of the one thing that mattered.

I priced based on fear, not value. I branded harder than I sold. And most importantly? I tried doing everything on my own.

Because I believed no one else could “get it” like I did. (They could. They just needed me to trust the process.)

Most founders I meet?

They’re stuck in that same loop.

  • They build awesome products

  • But their brand doesn’t convert

  • Or attract the right people

  • Or feel like them

They keep tweaking the color palette…
Redesigning the logo…
Adding one more testimonial…

But underneath everything?

They’re asking: “Is this enough to make people trust me?”

And that question isn't solved by design. It gets solved by direction.

So I made something I wish I had when I was stuck.

It’s called The Brand Engine.

And no — it’s not a “30 Canva templates to go viral” course.

It’s a stupid-simple, strategy-first system to build a brand that actually grows your business. Because what most founders need isn’t more design.

They need brand clarity. A reason for their audience to care and a plan to make them trust.

But here’s what I’ll say bye with: “Perfect” is where good ideas quietly disappear.

It’s better to show up messy than stay invisible waiting for flawless.

If you hold it back forever? No one gets to love it. Or dislike it.

But the worst part? No one gets to use it.

P.S. I wrote this for the past version of me. If it hit you too, reply and tell me why.
