What if an entrepreneur ruled the state?

Imagine a bunch of CEOs making decisions on economic matters.

I always had this weird thought in mind.

What if entrepreneurs were given the chance to rule the country or their state?

This might be the biggest ‘What If’ I have in my mind.

I feel like entrepreneurs will make the perfect leaders, I don’t know if they will be able to handle the politics (who am I kidding? Office politics are worse than actual politics 😂)

Let’s take some of the best entrepreneurs the country has produced. Ratan Tata, Nikhil Kamath, Sridhar Vembu and the list goes on.

For me, these people know more about the general society and its needs than the actual politicians.

Because these entrepreneurs are problem solvers by nature, and they like doing that.

Furthermore, they know a lot about the economics and the way stuff works. They can lead a group of people much better and sway people with the story.

Most of all, they can make money out of thin air, and they can make a profit out of anything.

Imagine our tax money being used to bring back 3X returns and helping the whole society. Feels like a dream, actually.

You may wonder why I’m writing this? Simple, someone asked me to share what I will do if I became the leader of the country.

So I’m gonna give you a few points and this is in no way going to be a political-based post, and I’m not affiliated with any party.

First, I’ll start with the government acquiring all the private hospitals and schools. This is very important for me because the average citizen should get free health care and education no matter their economic status.

The next thing I’ll do is try out Universal Basic Income (UBI). It is basically a social welfare proposal in which all citizens of a given population regularly receive a minimum income in the form of an unconditional transfer payment, i.e., without a means test or need to work.

This money will put food in everyone and a roof over their heads, so that people can actually do much more meaningful work without worrying what will happen.

Then I’ll probably devote all the resources to building a better place to lead a life. More trees and trying to do as much as we can to control global warming.

With proper environmental interest, we can bring up EV’s that won’t pollute the planet and an added advantage, we can control noise pollution. And most of all, improve public transport and non-engine so much that we won’t even need cars.

One important thing is regulating social media for kids. That is a must. Even thought the internet is a beautiful place, the problem with kids continues.

Finally coming to the golden goose, AI. We’ll have to find a way to regulate it. We are going in a direction where we won’t know the difference between reality and AI.

I don’t want to live in a world like Ready Player One. But yeah, VR sounds kinda cool in some aspects.

So I guess that’s all there is on top of my head.

And one more thing, I’d like to rule with an iron fist. Will probably cancel elections. 🌚 (jk lol)
