Life is exactly like a notebook.

One is ruled, and the other is unruled.

I was speaking to someone wise, and they shared this life-changing analogy with me in a completely unrelated context.

Life is just two types, one is ruled, and the other is unruled. Like notebooks.

A ruled life is where there is stability, and you have margins and restrictions which you are not supposed to cross and unread being all messy with a whole lot of freedom and a place to express yourself without restrictions.

I’m not going to do the dumb comparison of ruled notebooks being like work and unruled being entrepreneurship.

You know I’m not a fan of that. It’s always about how you look at life form.

But the analogy makes total sense.

You can live your life with restrictions, no matter what your employment status is.

If you are in a job that takes out 8 hours of your life, then the other 8 hours are in your control. You can do anything crazy that you like. As crazy as even writing weird newsletters like this. 🌚

But ruled stuff is not that bad either. You can have stability and yet write your own path. It’s all about personal preference.

For early readers, you might remember that I’m a big advocate of controlled chaos.

It means that things might seem to be out of control, but there is actually a hidden order or organization that allows things to function effectively.

Imagine a busy kitchen during the dinner rush. It may seem chaotic, with utensils flying and chefs yelling.

However, beneath the surface, there is a well-orchestrated system in place. Every chef has a specific role, and they work together to anticipate each other's needs and track orders.

Despite the apparent disorder, the kitchen functions efficiently, delivering a high-quality meal to customers.

This is a perfect example of “controlled chaos,” what looks like a chaotic environment is actually well-organized and effective.

This is something that everyone one of you must get familiar with.

Everything might look chaotic, but deep inside there is always a hidden plan of action.

Just like a ruled notebook, you can still make crazy ass stuff without minding the lines disturbing your flow.

But you know what is even better?

If you can make something so creative that those lines feel like part of the plan.

Do you feel me?

And here is the last edition for you to read, in case you missed it.
