If you’re still with me, you know AI’s not the enemy, but it damn sure isn’t your savior.

Agency gets you moving, taste keeps you on track. Isn’t that what branding’s all about?

When I launched The Stupidpreneur’s welcome series, I blended both: my own decisions plus a ruthless filter for what was me.

I got emails back saying things like, “Dude, this actually sounds like a human wrote it!” and “Had to stop scrolling when I saw your subject line!”

That’s not luck.

It’s the result of mixing agency (making my own calls) with taste (knowing which calls are worth making).

Your edge, if you want one, isn’t in publishing more. It’s in publishing work that couldn’t come from anyone but you — AI or not.

Want action steps?

  1. Before you hit send, ask: “Does this solve my reader’s problem, or just add noise?”

  2. Make one bold choice. Change a headline, ditch a cliché, break a pattern.

  3. Remember: most people won’t notice one more AI-optimized post, but they remember something that feels real.

Tomorrow, I’ll lay out how you can actually develop agency and taste, even if you feel like a robot in a world full of robots.
